5 best ways to market your brand in 2023
In our last post we spoke about different marketing plans that businesses need to implement to ensure success in this ever crowded online marketplace that is the internet.
In this post we are going to discuss 5 techniques that you can use today to start marketing your brand and keep you up to date with other tech savvy businesses in 2023.
In today's world it is crucial that businesses have a solid online presence that ultimately reaches more customers and therefore spreads your brand awareness and makes you more sales. Sounds easy? Well it is slightly harder than that and it takes a lot of hard graft to be constantly creating high level content that engages potential customers and reminds them that you are there.
Obviously every company is different and has different budgets, you may be a bootstrapped startup or a business with a marketing team. Whatever your size there are 5 areas you can really concentrate on that can yield returns and the best part is you or your marketing team can start doing these today.
Email marketing
This is often underrated and the forgotten art in the world of marketing. Where else can you get directly into someone's inbox and speak to them in a personal way. People will ignore a DM and may ignore a message on Whatsapp, But I guarantee that they will at least scan and read an email you send them.
There are a few issues you need to contend with, firstly you need to ensure you have an up to date email address. Having a contact section on your website to collect email addresses from visitors is a must, retaining a work email is best, but a personal one can work wonders too.
Now you do have a few hurdles to jump in order for then not to immediately unsubscribe. You need to make sure that you do not look like spam, using a good email marketing tool like Mailchimp for example will ensure you avoid spam filters. Starting the email with a personal touch like using their name and making the email look less like an advert and directed at them helps the bounce rate.
You also need to make sure that you do not email too regularly or people will get bored, having a set time to send out an email is also a good idea. This can then create engagement with followers and they will look out for your regular update on your business. Whether they choose to engage or not, you are still reminding them regularly that you are there.
Video Content
You have no excuses for not creating video content. Everybody has a video camera in their pocket, the modern smartphones are so advanced that the technology contained in them will enable you to create high quality videos and edit them to fit every social media platform.
I’m not saying you need to start your own YouTube channel.. Well not quite yet. But, having video content is essential for marketing your business in 2023. People engage with video and if you can capture their attention they will watch and listen to what you have to say. Modern social media platforms like Tik Tok, Instagram and Facebook all have reels where you can watch endless videos. It is important you choose the correct platform for your target customer.
The style today is to have more homemade videos and content obviously made on a mobile device. It gives a more personal insight into you and your business, and if utilised properly can really push traffic to your website.
Social Media
I have just mentioned social media in the previous section, but I can not stress enough how important it is for businesses to use social media. It is a FREE way for you to get in front of millions of potential customers. You need to have an up to date business page on as many platforms as possible, you need to utilise the tools that you have in front of you. If you have tech savvy youngsters in your team then use them.
You need to post and you need to post regularly, images, videos, stories, there are numerous different ways to get your brand out there. You can also do paid advertising and target who you send the adverts too. Beware however that the adverts can be a bottomless pit of money unless you are doing it correctly. You need to think carefully about the demographic of the people you want to target, think about location, age, etc.
Best social media platforms are Tik Tok, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and Twitter.
Live streaming
This form of social media is becoming increasingly popular as it gives businesses a chance to really get out there and talk to their customers and connect with them in real time. All the main social platforms have live platforms, where people can listen to and engage with different audiences. You can hold live conferences, interviews with staff members, host Q and A sessions or even give a glimpse into how you work or how your business runs on a day to day basis.
The best social platforms are Youtube live, TikTok Now, Facebook and Instagram Live . All these platforms are free and can engage different demographics of people depending on who you want to engage with.
